Ashley Beaver has been named the CUNYAC/US Army Women’s Track & Field Rookie of the Week for the week of 3/31 to 4/6, for the third consecutive week. The East Orange native is making his this season as she continues to shatter records in throwing events. This weekend at the AIC Spring Invitational, the Groves graduate placed seventh in the discus, throwing for an impressive 34.90 meters. Beaver came close to breaking her own record in the shot put, posting a 11.15 mark. The freshman posted a mark of 36.15 meters. All three marks qualified her for the CTC Championships.

Caitlin Padmore has been named the CUNYAC/US Army Women’s Track & Field Rookie of the Week for the week of 3/31 to 4/6. The Bajan native placed fifth in the javelin throw with a distance of 31.67 meters this past week at the Stockton Osprey Open.

CCNY Beavers
The City College of New York men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed on Saturday at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. CCNY scored in many events in a field dominated by Division I and II programs. Asha Brown produced excellent results in the women's throwing events. Brown threw for 30.47 in the hammer throw and 9.02 in the shot put, both qualifying her for the CUNYAC Championships. She missed qualifying for CTCs in the hammer throw by .01. Brown also had a time of 14.34 in the 100 meter dash. Taylor Jo Gillen clocked a 2:49.73 in the women's 800 meter run and a 5:45.01 in the 1500 meter run, both personal bests for the first year competitor.

The York College women's track and field team had a solid performance at the Stockton College Osprey Open. Johane Accime and Caitlin Padmore led the way for York, Accime placed fifth in the 400-meter dash and Padmore also came in fifth in her event, the Javelin throw at 31.67m.
Some other standout performers for York include Shanice Brown, who came in sixth-place in the 100-meter hurdles (19.45) and Akera Allen, who placed eighth in the long jump (4.47m).
York's next meet will be at the TCNJ Invitational on Saturday April 12th.
