York's Khatri and Baruch's Selegean Net Weekly Awards

CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Player of the Week

Hasnain Khatri has been named the CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the week of 3/31-4/6. The Flushing native won all six of his recent matches, three doubles and three singles bouts to help the Cardinals add to its list of successes. In his singles and double matches against Sarah Lawrence, the rookie won handily, 10-5 and 8-5 respectively. Against, the Lightning the star finished his doubles matches with a 6-1, 6-4 victory and his single match with a final of 8-6. Lastly, while facing Vaughn, Khatri won his doubles bout 6-0, 6-1, and his singles bout with a final score of 8-0.

CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Rookie of the Week
Jonathan Selegean, Baruch
#1 Singles/Freshman/Astoria, New York/Forest Hills

Freshman Jonathan Selegean has been named the CUNYAC/Hospital for Special Surgery Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week honors for the week of 3/31-4/6. The Forest Hills graduates outstanding performance helped the Bearcats remain undefeated in the both the CUNYAC and overall standings. The rookie partnered with Christopher Jenkins to versus the Bulldogs to achieve a 7-1 victory. The Singles star later recorded a tough win over York to keep his personal undefeated streak alive.

Baruch Bearcats

The men's tennis team has seen six matches postponed this season by weather or cold. They are scheduled to play four matches this week, which includes a rescheduled match on Monday vs John Jay. A rematch of last year's championship will take place Friday vs CSI at the USTA.

Brooklyn Bulldogs

The Brooklyn College Men's Tennis team posted an 0-3 record this past week, with losses to CUNYAC powerhouse Baruch College and non-conference foes NYU-Poly and Rutgers-Newark. The Bulldogs will have a busy week coming up, as BC takes on Hunter College, CCNY, St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) and Lehman College.

CCNY Beavers

CCNY lost 9-0 visiting Yeshiva on Thursday in their sole match of the week.

CSI Dolphins

Tough week for the Dolphins, who suffered a pair of 8-1 losses that book-ended a 9-0 win over Lehman. CSI has two important CUNYAC tests this week against John Jay College and Baruch College.

Hunter Hawks

The Hunter Hawks men's tennis team continues to be at the mercy of mother nature. Only getting in one match last week, the Hawks soundly defeated CSI 8-1. This week the Hawks are scheduled to play four matches.

Lehman Lightning

York Cardinals

The York College men's tennis team had one of their best weeks in recent memory, winning all three of their matches. They took down Sarah Lawrence 7-2, Vaughn 9-0 and CUNYAC opponent Lehman College 6-3.

None of their matches were in doubt, thanks to their young freshman Hasnain Khatri and Haseeb Raza, who dominated flight one and two against each opponent and won two of their three doubles matches. Hasnain went undefeated throughout the week in singles action while Haseeb lost just one match.

York will look to continue their winning streak this week and will face off against Hunter College on Wednesday at home at 3:30.
