On Wednesday, August 30, Nick Plevritis announced his resignation as head basketball coach at Hunter College. In his last season, he led the Hawks to a 13-14 overall record, made it to the semi-finals of the CUNYAC tournament, and coached the CUNYAC Rookie of the Year.

Plevritis attended Hunter and was a four year member of the basketball team. During his time as a Hawk, he amassed a total of 1,001 points and helped his squad win the 1994 CUNYAC Championship. He graduated in 2001 with a bachelors degree in physical education and joined the staff as an assistant coach before taking over as head coach during the 2005-06 season.  His record at Hunter stands at 48-82, 30-35 in the CUNYAC.
