Brooklyn, NY --- The 2010-2011 Brooklyn College Athletics season will mark the first full year of the Bulldog era, after the school announced its name change back on December 1, 2009. The college recently unveiled the new Bulldog mascot, which will add to the excitement of home athletic events. Pictured with the mascot is President Dr. Karen L. Gould.

The Bulldog made a surprise appearance at Brooklyn College's entering student orientation on Tuesday, August 24th, adding excitment and school spirit to the festivities.  Click here to view a gallery of pictures taken with the Bulldog.

The Fall season is set to kick-off on Friday, September 3rd when the Men’s Soccer team hosts SUNY Maritime College at Kingsborough Community College with a 4:00 pm start time. The Women’s Tennis team will host its first home match of the year on Friday, September 10th against CUNYAC rival Lehman College at 3:30 pm, while the Women’s Volleyball team will hold its home opener on Tuesday, September 14th against conference foe John Jay College of Criminal Justice at 7:00 pm. The Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams, whom both won the CUNYAC Championship back in 2008, will look to make another conference championship run when they start their respective seasons on Sunday, September 12th, where the Bulldogs will compete in the Baruch College Invitational.
