Brooklyn's Men's Basketball Team Honored By Borough President
The Brooklyn borough president, Marty Markowitz, honored the Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team on Tuesday, April 14th for their accomplishment of winning the CUNYAC Championship.
Markowitz, a Brooklyn College graduate, addressed the team at Borough Hall while telling stories of how the school was in the 1960's and how he grew up watching the Brooklyn Dodgers. He congratulated each member of the team and presented them with certificates to reward their accomplishment.
Head Coach Steve Podias was excited by the day's events, saying, "It is a great honor to be recognized by the President of the borough, who also happens to be a Brooklyn College graduate. We are proud of our school and the borough we represent and therefore this day was very special for our team."
