The clock is winding down to zero. The whistles are ready to blow. It’s time for action!
The fall sports season is officially here for the City University of New York Athletic Conference. From today through May, there will be 24 CUNYAC Championship teams crowned in both the Community and Senior College Divisions, and a handful of championship-winning teams, from the entire slate of 180 teams (with over 3,000 student-athletes) will compete at the National level, at the NJCAA or NCAA Championships.

For the second time in three seasons, only the CUNY Athletic Conference Champions, York College, qualified for the postseason in 2009. Even with 2009 ECAC Co-Player of the Year Elysee Vilsaint, up front, the Cardinals (12-8) fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on the road at Stevens Institute of Technology, 2-0. York should again be contenders for their third title in the past four seasons, but the field looks to be as wide open as ever in the league.

The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC), the largest urban university system in the nation, is delighted to announce that Municipal Credit Union (MCU) will be a full Corporate Partner of the Conference for the 2010-11 year. MCU signed on last spring to be the title sponsor for CUNYAC Baseball this year, while MCU will have a presence at all 24 CUNYAC Championships and Special Events.

The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC), the largest urban university system in the nation, is proud to announce the first restaurant affiliation in the 24-year history of the league. Apple-Metro, Inc., which exclusively owns and operates all Applebee’s® Restaurants in New York City, has signed on to be an official Corporate Partner of the Conference for the 2010-11 season.
